Round table “Investment and Partnership Opportunities in Jordan” by UNIDO ITPO Italy and Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo
The round table “Investment and Partnership Opportunities in Jordan”, organized by UNIDO ITPO Italy and Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, was successfully held in Rome on 25th October 2022 at Confindustria’s premisese.
Opened with the welcome remarks of Director General of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo Ms. Letizia Pizzi and Head of UNIDO ITPO Italy Ms. Diana Battaggia, the round table notably featured the participation of His Excellency the Ambassador of Jordan to Italy Qais Abu Dayyeh and the video message of His Excellency the Ambassador of Italy to Jordan Luciano Pezzotti.
The technical session, illustrating the Jordanian business environment and investment opportunities, featured the presentations of Mr. Hamzeh Fayez Mumani, Head of Industrial Observatory Department at the Jordan Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply (MITS); Mr. Suleiman Moh’d Suleiman Qura’an, Head of Communication and Marketing Programs at the Jordan Ministry of Investment (MOIN); Ms. Alaa Al-Khreasat, Acting Director of Programs and Technical Support Directorate of the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO); and Mr. Leonardo Cerciello, EVP for Africa, Middle East and Asia at TelecomItalia Sparkle, highlighting successfulItalian experiences in Jordan.
Moderated by UNIDO ITPO Italy Chief Technical Advisor Mr. Dino Fortunato and concluded by the closing remarks of Ms. Sulafa Mdanat, UNIDO Country Representative in Jordan, the roundtable allowed to promote Jordan’s dynamic commercial and investment prospects to the Italian business community and further develop the trade and economic connection between Italy and Jordan for inclusive and sustainable industrial development, in line with the mandate of UNIDO and the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
This initiative was part of the “Jordan Public Private Partnerships and Investment Promotion Mission to Italy”, facilitated by UNIDO ITPO Italy in the framework of the UNIDO project “Job Creation for Youth and Women through the Improvement of Business Environment and SMEs Competitiveness” implemented in collaboration with the MITS andwith the support of the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS).
